  • Forest School Workshops

Mon 10 Oct 2022 Mrs Bird

Last week, while the majority of our Year 5 and 6 children were on a school residential at the Anderton Centre, Mrs Hindle and Mrs Littler ran Forest School activities each morning for the remainder of the Year 5 & 6 children. Here are some photographs, which show what a fabulous time they had revitalising our Well-Being garden, creating pieces of natural art, discovering a hedgehog, carving pumpkins and so much more. Enjoy!

  • A visit from the Woodlands Animal Sanctuary

Fri 15 Jul 2022 Mrs Bird

As a result of all the Positive Me group's support for the Woodlands Animal Sanctuary this year, we had a lovely visit from them this afternoon - complete with some gorgeous goats! Here are some photographs of the Positive Me group with the volunteers and goats, but lucky children from Reception, Year 1 and 2 were also able to go and pet them. They thoroughly enjoyed it!
A big thank you to the Positive Me group for arranging this for so many of our pupils, and also to Mrs Henrys for all the wonderful work she has done with the Positive Me group this year. Enjoy the goat photos!

A massive well done to our Spelling Bee champion for 2022: Natalia in Year 5! ⭐️ 🐝

  • Music Concert

Mon 11 Jul 2022 Mrs Bird

Today we had the pleasure of listening to the Coppull Parish Music Concert, which had been organised by Mrs Jones, our music leader. We had amazing performances from our entire Year 4 class, who have been learning the ukulele and played with gusto. We were also treated to an 'award winning' performance by the Coppull Parish choir, led by Mrs Bridge and we also had several children who take music lessons through the Lancashire Music, or private tuition, who wanted to showcase their vocal, or musical talents on the piano. We were also delighted to have several Rocksteady bands performing on drums, electric and bass guitars, keyboards and with some wonderful vocalists. The children performed to a packed hall and impressed us with their confidence, talent and enthusiasm. Here are some photographs of the performances.

  • Choir's success at the Last Choir Singing competition

Sun 26 Jun 2022 Mrs Bird

Last Friday, Mrs Bridge and our choir took part in the Last Choir Singing finals at St George's Hall in Blackburn. We were delighted to have got through the heats stage and earn a place in the final, where we knew we would be competing against the nine best schools in the whole of Lancashire. So, as you can imagine, Mrs Bridge and the choir have been working extremely hard and dedicated many more hours to rehearsals to prepare for such a prestigious competition. And guess what? All that hard work and dedication paid off!! After an extremely hard fought battle, against some fabulously talented choirs, we achieved second place (or first runner up) just behind Norbreck Primary school from Blackpool, who were phenomenal on the night. Mrs Bridge, the choir and all the parents who attended the event were absolutely thrilled. We are so very proud of them all. Well done!

  • Sports Day 2022

Thu 23 Jun 2022 Mrs Bird

We held our Sports Day this morning, and the weather was beautiful - if a little warm to be so active. Every class took part in a carousel of different sporting activities competing for their house teams, before taking part in the individual running races. The House Team winners were: Green (St Patrick) with 161 points, in 2nd place were the Red team (St George) with 160, in 3rd were the Blues (St Andrew) with 156 and the Yellow team (St David) won 147 points - so it was a fiercely fought competition.

The children performed heroically in such warm weather and gave 100% effort. They demonstrated great sportsmanship, cheering one another on and encouraging stragglers to cross that finish line - which everybody did! Well done to Miss Robson, our PE leader, for organizing our first Sports Day post-pandemic, and all the children for throwing themselves into it. Thank you to all the parents who took time out to cheer the children on, and those who were brave enough to take part in the Mums' and Dad's races. Here are some photographs of the carousel of team sports activities, see Class Dojo for photographs of the individual winners.

  • Jubilee Celebrations at Coppull Parish

Fri 10 Jun 2022 Mrs Bird

We have had a brilliant day today celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, with all children carrying out a range of creative activities in the classroom and taking part in a street party style lunch, with lots of flag waving and patriotic singing involved.

We were delighted by the number of children who had brought in a Jubilee crown/hat to celebrate the occasion. All children had the opportunity to show off their wonderful creations at the Jubilee street party and two winners were chosen for each class, who then took part in a final hat parade, so that I could select the two ultimate winners. These children were: Alfie (Year 2) and James C (Year 3). A huge well done to everyone who got into the spirit of things and made the effort to create a crown – you looked amazing!!

Here are some photographs of the event - enjoy!

  • Health Week 2022

Thu 26 May 2022 Mrs Bird

We have had yet another fantastic Health Week at Coppull Parish. All of our children have had the opportunity to take part in a wide range of different sports and activities to support their physical and social development and promote mental health and well-being. This year, they have participated in Forest School, tri-golf, the Beat Goes on, yoga, kick boxing, urban funk street dance, zumba, crown green bowling, mindfulness, reiki, Drumzaloud and first aid training. We also had a visit from Mr Ingham, who works for British Olympic Cycling, who brought with him Kyle Evans, a BMX Olympian who developed his skills at Coppull BMX track when he was a teenager. The children have also researched South African sporting stars, as part of our Geography continent focus and produced some wonderful facts files and biographies in Literacy.  A huge thank you to Mrs Cooper for organizing the event and well done to all the children who tried something new and discovered that they loved it!

  • Big Brekkie for Christian Aid Week

    Fri 20 May 2022

Our Kingdom Club arranged a Big Brekkie to raise funds for Christian Aid week today. We have 153 children sign up for the event and have raised £124 for this marvellous charity. Our Guardians and Deputy Guardians made all the toast, while the Kingdom Club were responsible for serving all the breakfasts and clearing up between sittings. They all did a magnificent job and should be very proud of themselves. Here are some photographs of the event.
