  • Coppull Parish Church Fair in school

Sun 28 Nov 2021 Mrs Bird

On Saturday, Coppull Parish Church were able to hold their first Christmas fair since the pandemic began. The Church warden had asked the school to collect pre-loved games and toys for a stall, which school would run, and we were amazed by the enormous amount of donations that were sent in. Tommy, our Guardian, and Thomas, his Deputy were kept very busy selling fantastic bargains to lots of happy customers, and our stall raised over £120 for the Church, which was really satisfying. A huge thank you to everyone who donated toys, and to Tommy and Thomas for all their hard work.

  • Year 3 trip to the Synagogue

Fri 05 Nov 2021 Mrs Bird

Yesterday, our Year 3 class went to visit the Hebrew Congregation Synagogue in St Annes. This linked to their learning in RE, as we had been studying the Jewish festival of Sukkot, as part of our Harvest unit, and wanted to learn more about this festival. We all felt so welcomed by Rabbi Danny Bergstrom and the members of his congregation. Everyone (the teachers included) learned so much about the history of Judaism, what it is like to live as a Jew in modern society and we also had the opportunity to look at sacred artefacts. The children asked some excellent questions, which really kept the Rabbi on his toes! What an excellent trip! Well done to Year 3 for their wonderful behaviour throughout.
