Updates
As a school, we have completed a full curriculum review, which included taking a close look at provision for Personal, Social, Health and Emotional (PSHE) education. From Summer 2021, the government have defined Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) and Health Education as a compulsory feature of all primary school curriculums.
For Coppull Parish Church of England Primary School, relationships and health education has always formed part of our PSHE curriculum, so this is nothing new. However, we feel it is important that when there are changes in our PSHE curriculum, we engage and inform parents of what these changes consist of and, to this end, we consulted with parents to give them an opportunity to view the resources and teaching materials we use as a school for PSHE and RSE.
After exploring various schemes of work we have chosen to use the '1 Decision' scheme for our PSHE/RSE lessons. This is due to its's interactive platform which is regularly updated, appealing videos, quizzes, activities and lovely workbooks.
Unfortunately, due to COVID- 19 we were unable to invite parents into school for an open evening to discuss these changes, so made them available on the school website and provided parents with the opportunity to give us feedback on the changes.
