  • Children in Need

    Fri 14 Nov 2014

Well done to all the children who brought in money to donate to Children in Need in exchange for dressing up as Superheroes! We were very impressed by the wide variety of ‘superheroes’ that came into school today, from Bradley Wiggins to Batman!

A special mention for Year 5, who as part of Maths Week, managed to raise £42.25 as part of an ‘Apprentice’ style task. They will be donating their £17.25 profit to Children in Need. To see how they did it, please visit the Year 5 class page.

So far we have raised a total of £169.95.
    Thank you for your support.
  • Maths Week

    Thu 13 Nov 2014
This week we have a fantastic ‘Maths’ week, with all classes completing lots of fun and exciting maths activities. Children applied their maths to real life situation by going shopping for ingredients and making sweet treats, other children completed maths trails around school, Year 4 children used their maths in their PE lessons to time each other and measure the lengths of each run. Year 3 children used perimeter to create artwork whilst in Year 6 children used the internet to find out how far our food travels from its original source…and much, much more!

Please keep an eye out on the class pages to find out what each class did this week!
  • Remembrance Day

    Tue 11 Nov 2014
This year Remembrance Day takes on additional significance as it marks the 100th anniversary of the commencement of the First World War. As a school we all took part in a minutes silence to remember those who have taken part in wars, especially those who gave their lives. We also shared artwork and poems which the children had completed in class as part of their learning. It was lovely to see so many children wearing their poppies and being able to explain why they were wearing them.
