  • Royal Wedding Celebration

    Thu 28 Apr 2011
To celebrate the Royal Wedding, Coppull Parish decided to hold their very own Royal Wedding Celebrations!

Firstly, we had our very own royal wedding.  George and Chelsea played the important roles of bride and groom, whilst Kieran conducted the service.  It was a wonderful 'Dr-Seuss' inspired ceremony which was just perfect for the occasion!

Due to the lovely (albeit slightly breezy!) weather, we were able to have our special wedding lunch after the service outside on specially decorated union-jack tables.

In the afternoon, the whole school took part in a variety of Royal themed activities together.  This included learning how to maypole, playing Royal hoopla, having their face painted, welly wanging, Naming the Teacher (from their baby photo) and playing cricket.

It was a truely great event, which all of the children thoroughly enjoyed.

  • Goodbye Mrs Whisker

    Thu 07 Apr 2011

Today was a very sad day for us here at Coppull Parish as Mrs Whisker retired from teaching.  She has been a teacher here at our school for over twenty years and has taught throughout the age range. She has also been a very effective Special Needs co-ordinator, helping school ensure that all children received their entitlements.

All the children took part in a special surprise leaving assembly for Mrs Whisker this afternoon, with each class contributing something that they would remember Mrs Whisker for.   For some reason, every class mentioned Horrid Henry books!?

For her leaving present from the school staff, parents and governors, Mrs Whisker was presented with a garden chair (as she had requested) and also a purple-themed garden planter full of beautiful plants and flowers.
Thank you to all those who sent a donation into school for her collection.

We all wish Mrs Whisker a very Happy Retirement and hope that she will come and visit us again soon!

  • X-Factor Dance Final

    Thu 07 Apr 2011
Over the past few weeks, many children in school have spent hours creating, practising and improving their very own dance routine ready for the Coppull Parish X-Factor Dance Final.  The children attended after school dance training sessions with Mrs Jones to get their act perfected ready for the live show.

Tonight we witnessed the immense talent that we have here at Coppull Parish - they were all fantastic!  Children performed individually, as well as in pairs and groups to a crowded school hall.  After watching over 16 amazing acts, who was going to be crowned as the winner?  That was up to the panel of judges, which included Mrs Brennan, Mrs Whisker, as well as other members from the school council and school governors.

After much deliberation by the judges (the scores were very close!) Lucy from Reception class was crowned as our overall Dance Factor Champion.  Congratulations Lucy!

With selling raffle tickets and with the £1 entrance fee, this event managed to raise over £300 for school funds.

A big thank you to all who helped in the organisation of this great event. A special thanks to Mrs Jones, PAST and the School Council for all your hard work.  It is very much appreciated.
