As part of National Storytelling week, the children have enjoyed hearing and
telling lots of different stories, poems and plays.
Our visiting author, Alec Williams, was a treat for both children and staff and it was great to have him at Coppull Parish.
All of the children have learnt a story to share with you as part of our storytelling week.
Our sponsored event involves the children now getting sponsored to tell it to as many people as they can. The more people they tell it to, the more money the children could collect.
All of the money the children raise will go towards refurbishing our school library, so please raise as much as you can!
A copy of the sponsor form can be found on our Latest News Documents page if you need a copy... or if you run out of room on your original copy!
On Wednesday and Thursday we were treated to some very special performances of 'A Midwife Crisis' by Year 1 and Year 2.
The story focussed on a very flustered midwife, and her put-upon donkey Steve,
who both had a very special baby to deliver in Bethlehem.
All of the children had worked so hard and the performances were just wonderful!
Many thanks to Miss Green and Miss Chandler for organising such a wonderful Nativity.
Today we were treated to a wonderful nativity by our Reception Class.
The children all took part in 'A Little Bird Told Me', which involved enthusiastic singing, wonderful dancing, and superb acting.
We all really enjoyed it and were so proud of you!
A special thanks to Miss Jenkins, Miss Carvell and Mrs Winward for all their efforts with this production.
Welcome to our first newsletter! The school council has been formed to help make our school an even better place to be. We will organise events for the school, help to raise money, listen to what pupils want in our school, and many more things.
We have our own display board in the school entrance – come and look at it to find out a little bit more about us all, the upcoming events we are planning to hold and place any suggestions you have for us in the box.
Our first school council event is going to be a Book Swap, held on Monday 16th December. The teachers held a very successful book swap last year and we are looking forward to holding another. What we would like everyone to do is donate a book to school that can be swapped with someone else. Here’s what to do:
***If you would like to bring in more than one book, you are more than welcome to and we will add them to our class libraries for other children to enjoy – it is a good chance to clear out your bookcase to make room for the new toys Father Christmas will hopefully be bringing you ***
The school council will be bringing cakes in that will be available for you to buy at the book swap. There will be no prices on the cakes, but a donation will be greatly appreciated. The money raised will be used to buy some brand new books for the library that the whole school can enjoy. If anyone else would also like to contribute any cakes we would greatly appreciate it.
We really hope you can all bring in a book,
The School Council
A big thank you to everyone who came to our Chocolate Christmas Bingo last night.
It was a great event, and many people came to support this event held by PAST (Parents and Teachers Together) for our school.
Thanks to your support, we managed to raise an amazing £385 towards school funds!
A BIG thank you to everyone who helped organise this event - it is much appreciated.
Today, we held a very special assembly with the charity 'Hand on Heart'.
A few months ago, Coppull Parish Church School was nominated by Councillor Holgate to receive a defibrillator funded by the charity ‘Hand on Heart’.
Today the charity formally presented school with this piece of lifesaving equipment.
Many thanks to everyone who contributed to make our Coffee Morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Care such a great success.
Thank you to those who donated cakes and money for this wonderful cause. The total raised was £222.65. Well done everyone!
Many thanks to everyone who came to our Open Afternoon today.
There were many different activities happening around school from cookery, artwork, painting and maths!
It was great to share our learning, classrooms and school with you all and we certainly hope that you all enjoyed it.
Today we held a non-uniform in aid of Bijilo Lower Basic School in The Gambia.
As you may be aware, Coppull Parish has supported this school for over a year now.
We have held non-uniform days, cake sales and even an art exhibition with the aim to raise equipment and more importantly, awareness of this school and country.
Today, children were asked to bring in items of sports equipment which will be put in the shipping container that is being sent to The Gambia at the end of October.
The children at Bijilo currently have little playtime equipment and very few items for their PE lessons. We know that all of the items you have donated will
make a real difference to their school.
Thank you to everyone who sent in equipment today.
It is much appreciated and we thank you for your support.
Mr Bolam, who is our link teacher for this outreach, would also like to pass on his thanks too.
We will put updates on our 'Latest News' page when the container arrives, so please keep a look for them!
