Our children had a brilliant afternoon being thoroughly entertained by Chaplins theatre company today. Our younger children were completely enthralled and involved in the story line and everyone loved booing the villain and shouting 'he's behind you!' We had jokes galore, song and dance routines and a whole lot of fun. Have a look at the photographs and see what a great time we all had. Thank you to the PTFA who provided a sweet treat for home time too, what a great finish to a wonderful afternoon!
Mrs Goymer and the Gardening Club have been really busy this week making a hedgehog hut and garlands of berries and popcorn to feed the wild birds over the colder months. I even saw a cheeky squirrel heading towards our allotment the other day, so the local wildlife will definitely appreciate all the hard work. I know the children really look forward to their Gardening Club sessions, as they learn so much and develop all their gardening skills and talents. Thank you children and thank you Mrs Goymer for your dedication!
Yesterday, the whole school took part in the Blackburn Diocese's Year of Prayer launch, which was delivered (via Zoom) by Phillip, the Bishop of Blackburn.
The Diocese are launching this lovely event to celebrate their centenary year and Coppull Parish are more than happy to be involved in this as we explore how we can both underpin our own lives with prayer and develop and embed a culture of prayer in the lives of the children and young people we have the privilege of connecting and sharing our faith with.
Twenty thousand children across the Diocese are taking part in a weekly prayer and to demonstrate this experience, Bishop Phillip led all the schools taking part in today's session in 'quiet' prayer for support with something they personally need and 'noisy' prayer for countries that need peace. You can probably guess which the children enjoyed the most - it wasn't very peaceful, but they will definitely have delivered their message!
