30 children from Y5 and Y6 were very lucky to visit Robinwood this weekend for fun, sun and adventure!
During our three days at Barhaugh Hall in Alston, we completed many different activities from canoeing, archery and not forgetting the freezing cold stream walk.
We managed to fit in 14 different activites in total which was brilliant!
Our Robinwood experience started with a lovely walk through the Pennine hills with our group leaders for Moorland Challenge. The weather was perfect, and not raining, which made a nice change!
Whilst at Robinwood, we took part in many activities which included
- Crate Challenge
- Climbing
- Stream Walk
- Giant Swing
- Trapeze
- Zip Wire
- Caving
If you look at the photographs, you can see the many different activities that we took part in.
We had an amazing time at Robinwood.
Our excellent group leaders, Kyle, Bob and Adam were so supportive and funny and many of us, with their help, faced our fears, whether it was of heights, water or the dark. We felt so proud of ourselves and couldn't believe what we achieved.
We all had such an incredible weekend at Robinwood and really didn't want to leave!
Once back at school, we wrote thank you letters to our group leaders and completed large paintings of the activities that we took part in.
We think our school displays look great - what do you think?
Today the whole school was treated to a very special theatrical performance of
The Railway Children.
Many of the classes in school have been doing lots of work based on this classic by Edith Nesbit.
We were really looking forward to the theatre visit and they certainly didn't disappoint - it was fantastic!
The actors brought the book to life and the scenery was really impressive.
Many thanks to M & M Productions for visiting us here at Coppull Parish.
On Friday 20th September, the whole school battled it out to see who was the best at European Geography!
The reason why we all tried so hard to be the best team was because the winners would get to visit Papa Luigi's Resturant in Chorley.
It was very close, but the winners were the following teams who scored an impressive 26 and 25 out of a possible 30 marks.
Joseph Sophie
Liam Ridha
Alex Oliver
Charlotte Keylise
William Kirsty
As you can see from the photographs, the two winning teams had a great time creating and eating their own pizzas at Papa Luigi's.
A big thank you to all of the staff for their generosity. We all really enjoyed it!
If you would like to try the quiz for yourself, then please see Latest News Documents.
Thank you too to Miss Green for organising this wonderful event.

On Tuesday 17th September, KS2 went into the hall and danced their socks off with the brilliant Mrs Shepherd!
We tried to learn some Greek dancing as part of our whole-school European Week.
Even though the moves were difficult, KS2 still managed to pull it off!
We all enjoyed the experience and hope we will do it again soon.
As you can see from the photographs, we all had a great time!

On Wednesday 10th and Thursday 11th July, KS2 held their end of year production of 'Peace Child'.
It is a real team effort from the whole school, from the making of the costumes and props, to the learning of the songs.
Thanks to Mrs Preston, Mrs Tyrer, Mrs Ruler & Mrs Haley for designing and making the costumes.
Thanks to PAST for their help with refreshments.
The sun finally made its way out in time to shine on our annual school Summer Fair.
There was a large variety of stalls from tombolas, lucky dips, games and a bouncy castle to name but a few. Each year group set up their own stalls too in a bid to be
the class who raised the most money.
As you can see from the photographs, a great time was had by all who came to support us at this event.
It was a great success and we raised an amazing £921.10 for school funds. Year 4 managed to raise the most money on their lucky dip and buzzer game stall. Well done Year 4 and Miss Grimes!
Thank you to P.A.S.T members, staff, parents and children for all their hard work.
A big thank you to everyone who attended our Open Afternoon today.
It was a great success with over 60 visitors coming to see all of the great work that is happening at Coppull Parish Church School!
This week we have held an 'African Week' at school and it was lovely to be able to share our learning with those who came to visit.
There were many different events around school from amazing art work, ICT, baking, PE and not forgetting the African Café in Year 3!
We received many wonderful comments from our visitors.
Wonderful all through school. Y3 will have to set up a permanent cafe!
Great school and I enjoyed my visit very much.
Brilliant school, children and teachers.
Fabulous displays - loved the cafe!
Lovely and friendly.
A great display of children's work.
Really useful to walk around and look at all the work that the children have been completing.
Very polite pupils.
The children and staff put a lot of effort into the afternoon and the children thoroughly enjoyed showing their work.
Well done everyone!
On Wednesday 17th April, 4 children from Year 6 represented our school at the Primary Engineer County Competition at Southlands High School.
This project was open to all primary schools in the Lancashire district, and allowed the children to incorporate their science, design technology, engineering and maths skills.
Erin, Charlotte, Nathan and Kai, as well as all the Year 6 class, worked in pairs to make a motorised vehicle.
Their vehicle needed to travel in a straight line (forwards and backwards), as well as being able to travel up a graded ramp.
They also completed a booklet throughout the project, explaining their designs, processes, tests and evaluations.
Despite tough opposition, Nathan and Kai were successful in winning their category and were named as the KS2 County Champions!
This means that they are now through to the National Primary Engineer finals in June, where they will be competing against schools from across the country.
What an amazing achievement!
Congratulations Nathan and Kai and Good Luck for the Nationals!
