VE Day Celebrations at Coppull Parish
Thu 08 May 2025Children and staff had a wonderful time commemorating the 80th Anniversary of VE day today. Everyone dressed for the occasion in red/white and blue, or 1940s style clothing - ranging from HM Forces to the Land Army, fashionable civilians and we even had a few evacuees. Staff have prepared lots of great learning and activities based on what life was like for our local community during the war period and celebrating the lives of those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom today. It was a day of great joy, great learning and real community spirit. Our neighbours even rang up to thank us for all the wonderful wartime music we played during our street party style lunch. Days like these are so important, as we remember our shared history and learn from it. Well done everyone for throwing yourself into it!
