This week is our Spirituality Week at Coppull Parish. As part of this, we have invited the Chinese Confucius Society into school to run activities which give children a sense of joy, awe and wonder; develop their creativity and self-esteem; and promote mindfulness. During our Chinese Experience day, the children were instructed in Tai-Chi, paper cutting, Dragon Dancing and Chinese lantern making, which gave them the opportunity to meet Chinese students and gain a better understanding of the Chinese culture. Have a look at the photographs to see what a fabulous day the children had.
Fairtrade Coffee Morning and Bake Off Competition
What a brilliant start to a Friday morning! We were inundated with donations of delicious cakes, biscuits and traybakes for our Fairtrade Coffee Morning and were pleased to welcome some of our parents & grandparents to enjoy them with a nice hot drink. Thank you to everyone who baked for us, all the children have had the opportunity to go to the hall and purchase cakes this morning - I can't tell you how excited they were to see the wonderful selection to choose from.
We we delighted by the number of children's entries for the Bake Off competition this year - the standard was so high, Cath Greenless had such a difficult job judging them. Finally, after a lot of comparative tasting, she chose the Nutella Crumble cake baked by Santina in Year 4, as the overall winner. However, she was so impressed by the quality of the entries, she awarded all the children who entered with a bar of Fairtrade chocolate. The adult winner was Sandra Kay, who produced a delicious chocolate ring cake. Well done to everyone involved.
So far we have raised £110 - so a huge well done to the children from the Kingdom Club who organized the event, baked and decorated cakes and ran the coffee morning, all in support of Fairtrade. You should be very proud of yourselves.
Thank you everyone for your amazing support.
