World Book Day at Coppull Parish
It's World Book Day 2020 and Coppull Parish is having a ball. This year, we decided to have a poetry focus, as we have invited a brilliant poet, called Ash Dickinson to get the day off to a great start by performing some of his amazing poetry in our assembly. The children and staff were all invited to come to school dressed a poem or nursery rhyme and bring their poem in, to share with their classmates. The outfits were colourful and creative and the range of poetry was fabulous - we all learned so much and had a great time. Ash delivered poetry workshops in every class throughout the day, and was delighted by the children's enthusiasm and talent. Mrs Clarkson, our Literacy leader, created a poetry trail throughout school, which had riddles, rhymes and quizzes to complete, and kept the children thoroughly entertained. What a wonderful way to discover lots of new poets and poetic styles, dress up and have a brilliant day of learning. Well done to everyone who threw themselves into it and made it such a super day.
