Today our Year 5 and 6 children went on an RE trip to the Hindu Temple and Mosque in Broadgate in Preston to support their learning about Hinduism and Islam in school. Year 5 have completed an RE unit on 'The Bible' so were particularly focusing on the sacred texts of Islam and Hinduism; while our Year 6 children have been studying Pilgrimages in their RE lessons, so were finding out the Hajj and any pilgrimages relating to the Hindu faith. Both classes visited both venues and really enjoyed talking to the local faith community and the religious leaders. Here are some photographs of their visit. I particularly liked the photograph of some of our boys lying on the carpet and looking at the highly decorated temple ceiling, pointing out the artwork of different Hindu deities.
