Year 5 have organized a 'One Handed Day' to fundraise for a crowdfunding event for Vinnie, a pupil in their class who was born with a limb difference and is hoping to get fitted with a bionic hand. In order for our children to experience the many challenges that Vinnie overcomes on a regular basis, Vinnie and his class have designed some tricky tasks for the children to complete 'one handed'. Every class have taken part and the children were really surprised at how difficult tasks can be without the use of both hands. Vinnie, who was running one of the games at the time, said that he is really excited that everyone is learning about the challenges and having a lot of fun. He hopes that we get plenty of sponsorship money in so that he can raise enough money for this much needed bionic hand. Well done Vinnie, Mrs Jones and Year 5 for such a great idea and wonderful effort to support this fantastic fundraiser. 

We were delighted to invite Konflux Theatre group into school to deliver a series of recycling workshops to Year 2, 3 4 and 5 today. The workshop was entitled: 'What goes around comes around' and was teaching the children about how to recycle and protect our planet. Our children thoroughly enjoyed all the activities and amazed our visitor with their enthusiasm and passion for looking after God's creation. He reported that he was very impressed with their knowledge and commitment to protect their environment through walking to school to cut pollution and congestion; reducing waste and recycling. We enjoyed a lovely Easter Service at Coppull Parish Church this morning. Reverend Matt delivered the service and was supported by the children from our Kingdom Club, who gave reading and read their prayers. It was a wonderful opportunity to hear and reflect upon the Easter story and the relationship between Maunday Thursday, the Last Supper and the Jewish feast of the Passover. Thank you to all the parents who were able to join us and to the Kingdom Club for your confident scripture readings. 

We are delighted to announce that after a brilliant performance last night at St George's Hall in Blackburn, our choir won first place and are now finalists in the Last Choir Singing competition in June. Mrs Bridge, our talented choir leader, is incredibly proud of how well they performed last night and is very excited to be taking part in the finals. The school were treated to a wonderful performance this morning and thoroughly enjoyed the song choices and the choreography. Well done everyone involved and good luck for the finals - we can't wait!

World Downs Syndrome Day
We have all worn 'lots of socks' today to raise awareness and support World Downs Syndrome Day. Mrs Davison led an assembly, which explained what Downs Syndrome is and challenged the stereotypes that get attached to people with Downs Syndrome and cause prejudice.

At Coppull Parish we feel it is really important for us to recognise that we are all special, completely unique and loved by God. Our children had produced art work of different patterned socks, to show that we are all different yet wonderful, which was on display in the hall.
