Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Over the past three weeks, the children at Coppull Parish
have been busy collecting pennies as part of a
charity collection organised by the School Council.
The School Council decided to ask the school to collect
money for the charity The Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
Some members from the School Council took all of the pennies
to be counted, and there were so many it took over a hour for the
machine to count them all!
Today, everyone finally found out just how much their class had
raised for this fantastic cause.
The results are as follows....
YR - £19.33
Y1 - £19.91
Y2 - £51.24
Y3 - £59.51
Y4 - £12.64
Y5 - £27.67
Y6 - £27.83
A BIG THANK YOU to all of the children,
but CONGRATULATIONS to Y2 and Y3
who will be having a treat for raising over £50 in their classes.

As part of the London 2012 Olympic celebrations, Chorley Sports Partnership organised an Olympic torch relay between all schools in Chorley.
Today, the torch arrived at Coppull Parish!
Children from Southlands High School brought the torch to our school this afternoon.
We welcomed them with our singing, dancing and flag waving which they definately appreciated. As the torch was passed onto our school, we exchanged pennants between the two schools.
Look at the documents below to see some our pennant designs.
Our school then had to take the torch all the way to the next school - Coppull St Johns. Children from Year 5 and Year 6 carried the torch and exchanged pennants with St Johns once they were there.
The children and staff at Coppull Parish were very happy to be part of such a wonderful occasion!
Thank you to the sport partnership for organising such a great event.
Please see Latest News Documents for the Pennant Design documents.
On Wednesday 9th May
Coppull Parish School had an Olympic Day.
It was so much fun.
Early in the morning we had an assembly from two men
telling us all about the London 2012 Olympics.
One of the men was called Bernie and the other one Scott.
Later on that day they did a few sessions with some of the classes. One of the things we did was an opening ceremony in which we had to wave flags. Then they said everytime we answered a question we could have one gold medal. Midway through the session we played some games. A lot of the games were for working together and others on your own. At the end of the session I ended up with a grand total of 11 gold medals.
We also found out some facts about the games...
- The rings on the Olympic flag represent the five continents (America, Asia, Australia, Africa and Europe)
- The first Olympic games was held in Athens which is in Greece
- The Olympics will start in London on the 27th July
- Many different venues are being used for the games including Old Trafford and Lords Cricket ground
Many thanks to our visitors from the Chorley Sports
Partnership for coming onto our school.
The day was fantastic and I can't wait for the games to start!
