Hello and a very warm welcome to our Year 1 class page! 

This year the children will enjoy an exciting transition from the Foundation Stage to Key Stage One and the National Curriculum. We aim to make this move as smooth as possible, encouraging learning through enhanced provision and more structured lessons by instilling a love of learning. 

A Little Bit About Our Class

Mrs Lock is our full-time class teacher and is supported each morning by Mrs Cross. In the afternoon, we are supported by Mrs Spensely in class and Mrs Sharkey delivers targeted interventions. On Thursday mornings, Mrs Davison teaches the class during Mrs Lock’s PPA time.

PE Days

Our PE days are Wednesday and Thursday.

Please make sure your child comes to school ready for PE on these days. 

Book Bags & Spelling Books

Fridays are our book bag days! 

Please bring book bags into school every Friday. Reading books and library books will be changed each Friday. We will check all the bags and send home the children's marked spellings and new words so that they can practise their spellings at home.

We will regularly share little snippets of what we have been learning and enjoying in class!
