Our Christian Vision for Worship

As a Church of England Primary School, Collective Worship is an integral part of every day in school for all staff and children. It is a time when the whole school comes together to learn, listen, reflect and pray.

Our worship is invitational, inclusive and inspiring. We provide a welcoming space in which every child can participate, reflect and develop their own beliefs and understanding of faith, while respecting the beliefs and views of others.

The main focus of our worship is the three core values which form the fundamental ethos of our school, ensuring that our pupils are:

• Curious: We encourage children to be curious learners who ask questions, seek understanding and develop their God-given talents.
• Compassionate: We nurture a compassionate and loving family ethos where everyone feels welcomed, valued and supported.
• Courageous: We inspire children to be strong and courageous, standing up for what is right and acting with integrity, even when this is difficult.

Through our three core values, we teach and promote a broad range of Christian values rooted in the teachings and example of Jesus. These include:

Love, Joy, Wisdom, Humility, Thankfulness, Endurance, Respect, Trust, Peace, Forgiveness, Friendship, Justice, Hope, Creation and Koinonia.

These values shape our learning, relationships, worship and daily life as a school family.

Many significant and important events and celebrations, including those from other religions, are also included in our worship schedule. These are decided by our Headteacher, Mr Cooper, in conjunction with Mrs Davison, our RE Lead and Deputy Headteacher.

Every worship includes music and song, both as a time for reflection and listening and through raising our voices in praise. We have strong links with Coppull Parish Church, and Reverend Matt Hornby comes to lead worship with us most weeks. We also visit church regularly to worship together at key points throughout the school year.
