We are the first class in Key Stage 2 and a group of hard working individuals! Our teacher is Miss Blackledge and our Teaching assistant in class each day is Mrs Preston. Mrs Codd will also be teaching us one afternoon a week. 28 pupils will be learning lots of exciting information throughout the year!
We use these creative and imaginative topics as a context for a range of learning including literacy, numeracy and the wider curriculum where appropriate.
We feel it is extremely important to develop independence and responsibility in year 3 to coincide with the first steps into Key Stage 2. We will be working together on developing friendship skills, and becoming independent learners. We will always provide the support needed for individual children in order for them to not only reach their potential, but also enjoy the journey along the way.
We are very busy in Year three so below is some key information to help you know what is happening during a typical week.
PE - is on a Monday afternoon and Wednesday. Children will need to wear shorts, t-shirts and pumps. Earrings will need to be removed at home prior to school. On Wednesday we will going swimming, children will need a costume or trunks and a swimming cap.
· Reading Books – will be changed on a Tuesday, the children are responsible for choosing their own books to ensure they are interested in the books and want to read them! Reading at home makes a huge difference to your child’s progress, so please ensure to read regularly together at home throughout the week and sign the diary.
· Homework will be in a grid format, which has instructions on top of how to use it! Please encourage your child to complete homework as it is targeted to their individual needs and does support and extend what we have been learning in the classroom.
